Rules

Bosque Rules

After years of experience, we have found it necessary to create various rules to protect the local community, the forest, and the participants. Se founder’s original idea was to have a space with as few rules as possible, but participants were destroying the space.

  • The day starts with breakfast at sunrise. Bring a battery powered alarm clock if you need it..
  • Punctuality is required for all scheduled activities. “Spontaneous” people should go elsewhere.
  • Don’t bother Brian. He is often busy but will be available often.
  • Bosque Village is a non-smoking location. Do not come if you are a smoker.
  • To protect the local community, participants must stay on site unless with a staff member or resident. Town trips with a resident or staff member happen at least weekly. Long term participants can be trains in cultural sensitivity to lead people into town.
  • No illegal drugs.
  • Don’t feed the dogs.
  • No unexpected guests.
  • Stay on the trails. to protect the land.
  • Do not gather firewood, flowers, or plants from the forest without training.
  • Be trained in fire making at the Bosque before making a fire.
  • Fire spinning in approved areas only due to high risk of forest fires.
  • Do not waste or play with the candles.
  • Don’t drive around the Bosque.
  • Do not litter.
  • No amplified music. Except for scheduled performances and dance parties. Live acoustic music is encouraged.
  • Parents are responsible for the behavior of their children.
  • Please respect the forest, the residents, volunteers, and visitors.

Please, if you have any problem with any of the rules above, do not plan to visit us. It is much easier for us to continue to welcome guests who agree to respect us and our spaces.

If you have any questions about why we have a certain rule, please ask before arriving.
