Arriving prepared to the Bosque will help you enjoy your time! If you have any questions about what you should be packing, just let us know before you arrive so we can help you prepare.
Required Items
- You MUST bring a flashlight or headlamp. It gets very dark at night. LED bulbs are best. Telephones don’t work as flashlights!
- You MUST bring warm clothing. It gets chilly at night. See the climate page.
- If you are camping, you MUST bring a sleeping bag and tent. We may have ones to rent.
General Packing List
- Appropriate shoes and clothing. Bosque Village is a rural, trailed location. If you plan to work on art projects or building projects, bring clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
- Toiletries. We really appreciate, though do not require, guests who are able to bring along biodegradable soaps and toiletries.
- Towel.
- Any medication you may need during your stay.
- Sunglasses/sun protection. At the Bosque, it is easy to find shade. But for day trips it is nice to have protection.
- Water bottle.
- Notebook and pens. Pocket size notebooks are especially useful.
- A daypack to carry your stuff on walks.
- Anything you might miss while eating the yummy Bosque food: coffee, special tea, etc.
- During the rainy season (June – September), bring along rain gear.
Extras
- Digital camera and charger. Extra batteries are helpful since you can only charge during the day.
- Cell phone and charger.
- Swimsuit: clothing is required during traditional temazcal saunas and for part of the regular sauna time.
- Musical Instruments
- Whatever you want to share: your art, experiences, a workshop or class; totally optional but fun!
What we provide
- We provide drinking water.
- We provide toilet paper.
- We provide three vegetarian meals per day, sometimes there are meat options and we have fresh eggs from the chickens.
Other important notes
- Don’t bring snacks in small packages (candy wrappers and plastic end up on the trails). If fresh fruit for a snack is not all that appealing, bring some nuts, dried fruit, or healthy snack items for munching on between meals.
- Don’t bring cigarettes. We are a non-smoking location.
- There is not enough electricity at the Bosque to provide for using heated items such as irons, electric coffee makers, or hair dryers. If you are travelling with these devices please plan for alternative solutions during your stay.
