At the Bosque Village, our visitors are able to create a retreat that includes a variety of components not centered around any particular doctrine or spiritual path, but the interests and desires of the participant. We welcome you to work with us to create a retreat that you will benefit most from.
Why take a personal retreat to the Bosque Village?
People come from so many different situations that we can't possibly list all the different reasons for taking a personal retreat. Here are a few that may come to your mind:
- an opportunity to remove yourself from stress related to work or family life
- a break from city noises and sights
- a chance to walk instead of drive
- a space to live, eat, and think in new, healthy and productive ways
- an opportunity to set yourself apart from everything else in your life
- a week or two to give your body and mind a new perspective
- a safe and secure place to isolate yourself or enjoy fellowship with creative people in a positive atmosphere
The Menu
Below find our "menu" of aspects of a personal retreat here at the Bosque Village. As you read, you might find yourself liking certain items, while not having interest in others. If you are interested in a personal retreat fill out our visitor application form. There, you will aid us in designing your retreat, and we can start communicating about openings we have for you.

- Moonlit walks to enjoy the stars, moon, and universe
- Observe nature in a way that you'll find impossible in the city: the birds in their habitat, the sun rising and setting over the hills, the amazing variety of plants in the forest
- Relax in hammocks while you listen to the chimes or the birds
- Play your musical instrument (flute, guitar, etc) where only the forest can hear, or your music can be enjoyed by others around a campfire

Regardless of the structure of your retreat, your stay here will include:

Before you come:
- Personally assess yourself. Think about what you hope to gain from your stay at the Bosque Village.
- Prepare both physically and mentally for any fasting or meditation you plan to do during your retreat.
What not to expect:
- We do not provide counseling services to our participants. While we will do our best to provide you with an experience that will relieve you of stress and rigors of your daily life, we are not equipped to handle people with severe mental problems.
- Unlike many of the other retreat centers are focused on maybe one or two core ideas, we do not provide any spiritual doctrine other than the idea of conscious healthy living in tune with nature. Other places are more appropriate to find specialized instruction such as vipassana meditation retreats based on Buddhist principles, spiritual retreats centered on Jesus or Buddha, yoga or meditation, activity retreats revolving around hiking or biking, etc.
