Language learning in the Bosque

Language learning in the Bosque

In the Bosque we speak both English and Spanish . Depending on who is here, daily conversation can vary from English to Spanish to Spanglish - and even occasional mixes of Japenese, German, or French. We encourage all visitors to develop their language and communication skills while here - and we welcome people of all abilities. We recommend that anyone serious about language study speak entirely in the language they are attempting to learn.

For people wanting to learn Spanish or English, the Bosque is a great place to study if you don't want an overwhelming urban environment and if you would enjoy the Bosque culture and atmosphere. We are not a language school. Visitors pay language teachers directly - formal language instruction is not included in the price of your visit.

Our library includes many resources for learning Spanish. Books in Spanish range from children's literature to magazines to adult fiction and non fiction. We have a growing collection of films in both English and Spanish.

Teachers available

tere José and Tere live in a local village and are available for hourly language exchange. Walk around the forest or sit down in the Casita and have a beer or some tea, and speak with them about whatever comes up - they are helpful in correcting your accent, grammatical errors, and are fun and friendly to chat with! For beginners, speaking with José is best as he also speaks English, and can explain more effectively how to improve your communication. jose
