What you gotta know...

At the Bosque Village website, you can read extensively about our permaculture philosophy, the sustainable systems in place here, who we are, our facilities, etc. But for the travelers who don't have time to read the 22,000 word website, here's the basics of what you gotta know before you arrive.

  1. tentIt is not easy to just "drop by". Make your reservation in advance. We feed you, so we need to know you're coming. We're located up a long dirt road from a small village, and it's impossible to find us without planning ahead of time.
  2. We have a minimum stay of 2 nights because of the difficulty of getting to our remote location. Most of our guests plan for a week in order to really enjoy the experience.
  3. Bring a headlamp or good flashlight. It's dark at night.
  4. Bring warm clothing. If you come between June and September, bring a rain coat. If you come from October to March, bring a nice warm coat. Layers, layers, layers!
  5. We don't allow smoking. Leave the cigarettes behind. Drinking is fine, and we sell beer.
  6. We feed you healthy, vegetarian food. If you *need* sugar, bring some along. If you want coffee or tea in the morning, bring that too. We supply hibiscus flowers to make jamaica tea.
  7. We have ten dogs. If you hate dogs, you might not want to come.
  8. While you're here, you'll be among friends. Don't worry if you are traveling alone. Everyone here, while on their own journey, is part of the Bosque community.
  9. Please read the FAQ.
  10. If you have questions, contact us! Better to ask than to arrive unprepared.
