How come it's so expensive to camp at your place?
We charge 150 pesos per person, per night, which includes three meals a day and a nice place to camp. Our meals are awesome and this location is incredible. Please do not ask us to reduce our rate - we charge as little as possible in order to keep this project going.

How come your place is so inexpensive?
We want to keep our campground affordable for all type of travellers. The Bosque is a place to learn about sustainable living, enjoy a number of fun activities, and have discussions with other creative, interesting people.

What's the food like?
The food is vegetarian. We don't have a rule against meat - but we don't provide it. A typical daily menu would be: oatmeal, granola, fruits and a hard boiled egg for breakfast; hummus with tomatoes, cucumbers and onion and a side salad for lunch, and creamy potato soup for dinner. Vegan options are always available. Read more about the food here.

Can I camp with my RV?
We have car camping and small RV camping spots. Large RVs will not be able to make it up the road. Sewer, water, and electrical hook-ups are not available.

I don't have a tent or sleeping bag. Can I still visit?
Yes. We have tents available, and can provide you with some blankets. Or, you may consider staying in one of our cabanas for a higher cost.

How do I reserve my spot?
We strongly recommend visitors plan at least 3 days in advance. You will need to fill out the form on the Bosque Village website. Please indicate that you will be camping on your form. There is space to include activities and classes you're interested in. If you're not sure what you want to do while you're here, no worries.

How do I get there?
You'll get yourself to Erongarícuaro, Michoacán, and follow our directions from there.A map and directions will be sent to you when we receive your visitor application form. Please do not try to get here without directions! We usually meet campers in a nearby small village to walk them in to the Bosque through a trail in the woods. If needed, we use a burro to help carry your luggage. If you have your own vehicle, you can drive up our long bumpy road.

What can I do while I'm there?
Archery, badminton, birdwatching, hiking, relaxing, art, toys, conversations, yoga, wood carving... choose your own adventures. See the Bosque Village activities page for more information.

Can I smoke?
No. We do not allow smoking for the safety of our forest and out of consideration to our guests and residents. If you are a smoker you may not want to visit the Bosque.

Any other rules I should know about?
While you're here, you'll be part of our community. Be a good person. Respect the forest, residents, and other guests. Stay on the trails. Your acoustic instruments are welcome, but we do not allow amplified music. Don't litter. Don't feed our dogs. Don't start fires. Use common sense. If you don't have common sense, don't come here.
